LAHORE: Government of Punjab has initiated the process of filling the vacant posts of Vice Chancellors in various universities in the province. The candidates are being short listed before proper interviews and selection. However, only women are eligible for applying for posts of Vice Chancellors for Women Universities which is a positive and welcome step. It will go a long way in empowering professional talented women who are often neglected and ignored while filling these coveted posts. They face lot of barriers in their academic career and now female physicians have also stated voicing their concerns on such issues which also deserve to be commended.
