LAHORE: A Seminar on “Current Trends and challenges in Urogynecology “was arranged by Gynae Unit IV Lady Aitcheson Hospital KEMU Lahore under chairmanship of Prof. .Meher-un-Nisa on 07 March 2024.
Prof. Tayyaba Wasim HOD of Gynae Obs at SIMS in her presentation explained how to overcome challenges and hurdles in Urogynecology. Prof. Shehla Anwar HOD of Obstetrics and Gynecology Lahore Medical and Dental College/GTTH Lahore interpreted about recent trends of Aesthetic gynecologist and CO2 laser use to treat pelvic floor problems. Prof. Wajid from KEMU explained the role of urologist in managing in gynecological fistulas and role of cystoscopy in this field Prof.Zahid Ahmed gave insight about overactive bladder.
Facilitator Dr Sadaf Mubeen from KEMU described the understanding of Urodynamic while Dr. Aleena Sarwar explained the meta-analysis of sacrospinous/sacrocolpopexy fixation for treatment of vault prolapse.
Dr. Nasir Chaudhary /Medical Superintendent Lady Aitchison Hospital Lahore was Guest of Honor on this occasion who commended the efforts of the organizers in arranging this academic activity. Participants from different hospitals attended the Seminar.
Earlier Prof. Meher-un-Nisa in her welcome address gave an overview of the Urogynecology as a subspecialty of Gynecology to deal with problems related to female pelvic floor like uterovaginal prolapse,urinary incontinence, genito urinary fistulas,urinary tract infections, etc. (PR)
