Out of 30 oral and poster presentations, best three get Award and Cash prizes

KARACHI: NICVD annual research day marks a significant milestone as we all gather to celebrate the culmination of months of hard work, dedication, and innovation. I still remember, we started with a very humble beginning of one room Clinical Research Center and now we have many yearly publications from all faculty members published in national and international journals. This was stated by Prof. Tahir Sagheer Executive Director of NICVD while speaking at the 4th Annual Research Day organized on 29th Feb, 2024.

Research Day, he further stated shows our commitment to advancing knowledge, fostering collaboration, and pushing the boundaries of discovery in our respective fields. He commended the speakers of oral presentations and also those who participated in the poster presentations. More than 30 research projects were presented during the meeting. Top three oral and poster presenters were awarded with Certificates as well as cash prize of PKR 75,000, 50,000 and 25,000 respectively. The program as well as cash prized was supported by Research Grant of PharmEvo Research Forum.

Prof. Abdul Hakeem Samad presented a landmark study which was recently started at NICVD. It was a double-blind randomized control trial comparing different anticoagulants for decreasing stent thrombosis and mortality of the patients.

Dr. Masood Jawaid, Director Medical Affairs PharmEvo talk about the role of AI in Research and discussed how the new technologies are changing the landscape of medical research. In his presentation he also demonstrated new ways on which research projects can be completed at a very fast pace following ethical standards. Faculty members and residents took keen interest during the one-day event.
