Pre-Conference Workshop Scheduled for September 5;
Main Conference to Follow on September 6, 2025
LAHORE: The Society for Novel and Rare Diseases (SNARE) is organizing the First Rare and Genetic Diseases Summit in Lahore, taking place from September 5 to 6, 2025. The Society is dedicated to promoting advocacy, awareness, access, and care for individuals affected by rare diseases, ensuring that no patient is left without proper support or treatment. Prof. Javed Akram is the Founder and President of SNARE, while Prof. Sajid Maqbool serves as the Patron.
Pre-Conference Workshop
A Pre-Conference Workshop on Professional Capacity Building for Clinical Trials will be held on the morning of September 5, from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM.
The session will begin with a Welcome Address by Prof. Javed Akram, followed by the following presentations:
• Syed Munawar Ali – Clinical Trial Do’s and Don’ts
• Dr. Babar Saeed Khan – Capacity Building for Clinical Trials
• Dr. Mahwish Ansari – Regulatory Pathways to Clinical Trials
• Dr. Ume Sughra – My Clinical Trial Journey
• Mr. Shaukat Ali Jawaid – Key Considerations in Publishing Clinical Trials
The formal inauguration of the conference will take place in the afternoon of September 5. Vice Chancellors from several leading medical universities have been invited to grace the event. Expected speakers include:

• Prof. Ahsan Waheed Rathore – University of Health Sciences, Lahore

The second day of the conference on Saturday September 6th 2025 will begin with a “Meet the Experts” Breakfast Session, followed by the Plenary Session featuring internationally renowned speakers:
• Prof. Arndt Rolfs, Professor of Neurology (Germany) – The Genetic Revolution: Practical Applications for Physicians
• Prof. Henry Houden (London) – New Technologies for Identifying Genetic Causes of Unsolved Neurological and Developmental Disorders
• Prof. Saeed Hamid, Aga Khan University – Genetic Insights and Precision Solutions for Treating Children with Rare Severe Obesity in Pakistan
Scientific Sessions and
Poster Presentations
The First Scientific Session will feature multiple presentations on a range of topics, followed by Poster Presentations.
• Second Session (2:30 PM – 4:00 PM): Dedicated to Case Series
• Third Scientific Session (4:00 PM – 5:00 PM): Over half a dozen scientific talks are scheduled
• The day will conclude with a Closing Session.
