LAHORE: Punjab Institute of Neurosciences (PINS) will be hosting the country’s first-ever multidisciplinary neuro-specific congress — PINS-CON from October 23 to 25, 2025. The announcement was made by Prof. Asif Bashir Executive Director of PINS at a special meeting held at Bashir Ahmad Auditorium on June 12, 2025. He will chair the congress, alongside co-chair Prof. Naghmana Mazhar. Senior faculty including Prof. Mohsin Zaheer, Prof. Syed Shahzad Hussain, Prof. Abdul Majid, Prof. Qasim Bashir, Prof. Mudassir Aslam, and Prof. Saira Bilal were also present on this occasion. The secretary organizing team includes active members Dr. Zubair Mustafa Khan, Dr. Khawar Anwar, and Dr. Haseeb Mehmood Qadri.

PINS-CON 2025 will bring together disciplines such as neurosurgery, neurology, neuropathology, neuro-radiology, neuro-anesthesia, neuro-critical care, and neuro-rehabilitation — marking a significant milestone in academic collaboration.
The programme consists of hands-on pre-conference workshops and live surgeries, and nursing-focused academic sessions. The final two days will feature plenary sessions, expert talks, and free paper presentations — drawing participation from across the country and beyond.

This will be the first event of its kind hosted by a public sector hospital in Pakistan, highlighting the growing role of institutions like PINS in shaping medical education, research, and specialized care. Preparations are underway, with dedicated committees already in place, promising a congress that will redefine academic leadership in neurosciences. (PR)
