KARACHI: A delegation of Pakistan Society of Internal Medicine headed by its President Prof. Javed Akram visited the newly established state of the art offices of Pakistan Journal of Medical Sciences and Pulse International on November 18th 2024. The delegation in addition to Prof. Javed Akram included Prof. Aftab Mohsin Senior Vice President of PSIM, Prof. and Mrs. Tariq Waseem, Dr. Shehla Akram and Prof. Azizur Rehman who is also Editor of Journal of PSIM.

During their brief visit they were briefed about the editorial processing and manuscript management system used by Pakistan Journal of Medical Sciences. They were also showed formatting of manuscripts, their initial screening, the page make up, pdf generation and the open peer review system which the journals practices. They also discussed how to further improve the JPSIM.

Prof. Javed Akram thanked Mr. Shaukat Ali Jawaid Chief Editor of PJMS for the hospitality and opportunity to see a state of the art publishing house, great effort and wished that may Allah Almighty bless him more. We all thoroughly enjoyed and learned a lot, he remarked.

Recording their impressions and observations on the visitors book, Prof Aftab Mohsin wrote,” The visit was timely, INSPIRATIONAL and we had the pleasure of receiving lessons in Ethics during brief visit. May Allah give you greater success?” Earlier he also presented a gift on behalf of PSIM. Prof. Javed Akram had earlier sent a beautiful Calligraphy of Kalama which is prominently displayed at the office Entrance.
