KARACHI: Prof. Zulfiqar Bhutta an eminent researcher and Founding Director, Institute for Global Health and Development visited offices of Pakistan Journal of Medical Sciences on Saturday June 14th 2025. He was immensely impressed with the newly established State of the Art purpose-built offices of the Journal which enjoys highest Impact Factor among Pakistani Biomedical Journals.
Prof. Z. A. Bhutta recently visited offices of Pakistan Journal of Medical Sciences. Picture on left shows him with PJMS Chief Editor Mr. Shaukat Ali Jawaid while on right he is recording his impression in the visitors’ book.
Recording his impressions in the visitors book he wrote “What a great pleasure to see the office work of my dear and respected colleague Mr. Shaukat Ali Jawaid. I have admired his work and dedication for well over forty years from both close and afar. He is one of the few outstanding and brave medical journalists globally and we are privileged to have him in Pakistan.”

Prof. Zulfiqar Bhutta, it may be mentioned here served as consultant pediatrician and retired as Prof. & Head of the Dept. of Pediatrics from Aga Khan University Hospital after a dedicated service of four decades many years ago. He later settled in Canada and took up the responsibilities of Director, Institute for Global Health and Development. He has successfully collaborated with major multi-national and bilateral agencies, and governments on policy, research and knowledge transfer-based interventions aimed at improving the health and welfare of children and families. He has keen interest in improving public health.
