Pak-China Conf. at Shanghai
SHANGHAI: The Fourth China–Pak Congress was held in Shanghai from June 28-30, 2024, as part of the MOU signed for fostering the Pak-China cooperation in medical field. Prof. Saera Suhail Kidwai and Prof. Zahid Akhter Rao represented FRPMC at the conference and participated in the session devoted to Public Health.

Prof. Zahid, Head of the Anesthesia Department, presented data on Post-COVID Syndrome, discussing its prevalence, symptoms, and the importance of early identification and management to ensure the productivity of the population.

Prof. Saera Suhail, Head of Medicine, highlighted the neglected yet prevalent issue of osteoporosis using national and international statistics. She emphasized the impact on the elderly population and the economic burden due to fragility fractures, advocating for the inclusion of osteoporosis in the list of non-communicable reportable diseases. She also stressed the importance of regular Vitamin-D and Calcium supplementation in children and teenagers to strengthen bones and prevent future morbidity.
