KARACHI: Prof. Kalimuddin Aziz an eminent pediatric cardiologist and former Director of National Institute of Cardiovascular Diseases (NICVD) passed away on Thursday 8th May, 2025. May Allah Pak rest the departed soul in Jannah.

He lived a life with quiet dignity and in service of the betterment of the country. Prof. Kalimuddin Aziz, whose visionary leadership and unwavering commitment laid the foundation of pediatric cardiology in Pakistan. Appointed in 1980 as the first Pediatric Cardiologist at NICVD, he led the development of the country’s first pediatric cardiology services and played a vital role in advancing specialized cardiac care. Prof. Kalim’s lifelong dedication, including his tenure as Executive Director at NICVD (19.01.1992 – 13.04.1996) and his role as lifetime President of the Pakistan Society of Pediatric Cardiology, will always be remembered with respect and gratitude.
