Organizes Fund Raising Dinner for GTTH at Birmingham
LAHORE: Prof. Amir Aziz the noted Orthopaedics and Spine Surgeon from Pakistan during his recent visit to UK organized a Fund Raising Gala dinner at Birmingham which was sponsored and hosted by RIBEYE. Introducing Ghurki Trust Teaching Hospital, he pointed out that it was a beacon of hope for those who cannot afford costly treatment. The participants could not believe the variety of work being done at GTTH.

Addressing the meeting the hosts stated that they are delighted to have a great afternoon with Prof Amer Aziz and admire his contribution in health facilities and charity work in Pakistan. We have the honour of hosting this lunch in honour of those contributions and felt very proud to spend few hours with our true legend and hero.
Prof. Amir Aziz was also one of the invited guest speakers at the British Pakistani Orthopaedics Society meeting held on September 17th 2024. Complications of trauma surgery was discussed by Bob Handley while Dr. Irfan Malik spoke on Complications of spinal surgery. Deborah Eastwood discussed at length Complications, complaints and compliments in paediatric Orthopaedics. Prof. Amir Aziz’s presentation was on “Making a world class Orthopaedics Unit from scratch in Pakistan”.
Presentations were followed by lively discussion. The British arthropods said that there is not one center in the UK doing all these procedures under one roof which was a great tribute to the dedicated and devoted team of orthopedic surgeons working at GTTH which has a state of the art most modern well equipped Spinal Surgery Unit in Pakistan.
Earlier President of British Pakistani Orthopaedics Society Ghulam Abbas welcomed the participants and guest speakers During his visit he also attended the SICOT meeting held in Belgrade and spoke on Post traumatic kyphosis spine. SICOT it may be mentioned here is the largest orthopedic and traumatology society in the world which has one hundred twenty two countries its members.
