LAHORE: Prof. Amer Aziz the renowned Orthopaedics and Spinal Surgeon who established the State of the Art Orthopaedics and Spinal Surgery unit at Ghurki Trust Teaching Hospital has himself undergone a major spinal surgery recently. After successful procedure lasting for couple of hours, he is recovering fast.
Prof. Amir Aziz who has so far trained about two hundred orthopedic surgeons is so confident of the competence and ability of his trainees that he submitted himself for spinal surgery to one of his students. The surgery was performed by Pouf. Rizwan Akram. He did not think of going abroad like many other healthcare professionals. It is a shining example of dedication, devotion to the profession which he had chosen and did justice in training his trainees. Let us hope all other healthcare professionals and teachers, senior clinicians in particular will follow this good example set by Prof. Amir Aziz.
Ghurki Trust Teaching Hospital, it may be mentioned here has earned a great name and fame because of its Orthopedic and Spinal Surgery unit in particular which attracts patients from all over the country and overseas as well. It has earned international recognition while it has also been declared as Center of Excellence in Orthopedic & Spinal Surgery by Pakistan Orthopedic Association.
