LAHORE: Medical Women’s Association of Pakistan has appreciated the decision taken by Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz to appoint female leaders to head medical academic institutions in the province. President of MWAP Dr. Wajiha Rizwan in a letter addressed to the Punjab Chief Minister has extended her heartfelt appreciation for recognizing and empowering competent female healthcare professionals by appointing them as Principals and Deans in prestigious medical institutions in the province.
It may be mentioned here that recently the provincial government has appointed Prof. Tayyaba Wasim as Principal of Allama Iqbal Medical College, Prof. Zohra Khanum as Principal of Services Institute of Medical Sciences and Prof. Huma Kayani at Khawaja Safdar Medical College Sialkot. This the MWAP President says reflects the governments strong commitment towards gender equity and women empowerment in leadership roles. While male counterparts often enjoy broader networks and influence these women are proving that competence, sincerity and ethical leadership can drive remarkable change. Female leaders in medical academic are not only upholding high standards but are also inspiring a new generation of young women to aspire for excellence. She has thanked the Punjab CM for her visionary approach and continued support for women professionals. She hoped that in future too more opportunities would be provided to deserving women professionals across all sector especially in healthcare and medical education.
