An Appreciation

I am grateful to you for publishing my article on “Strategy for Health Department, Punjab. Earlier, you published a detailed review on my autobiography. You have been very considerate about me and have always paid special attention to my problems and vehemently supported the cause of doctors for betterment of their service conditions. You have also always supported the problems of family physicians. I pray for your long life and health.

Comments from the Website

A Multidisciplinary Workshop highlights the missing link in Diabetes Care.
That’s really nice effort. Multidisciplinary approach must be great innovation to deal with the menace of diabetes. Burden of diabetes and related health problems is increasing day by day. But health system’s capacity to manage it is comprised mainly by the fact that such innovative ways are not being implemented. And obviously no one at policy level cares about this issue.

Pet Allergy

I agree that pets should not be kept inside houses. There can be many health problems and other problems involved

Very useful reminder. That’s why we don’t keep these pets.

It’s always risky to have any kinds of pets indoors. Apart from cats, many people also keep dogs and all sorts of other pets (birds, hamsters, gerbils, rabbits etc) inside their houses and sooner or later some allergy or other illness is likely to result. It’s better to make separate accomodation for pets outside, even doghouses and catteries and such. These can be kept clean and hygienic but without in any way affecting human habitations.

Second Opinion

Yes. All hypertension patients to be diagnosed properly after more than three readings under unbiased circumstances and with a good and calibrated BP apparatus. In younger patient hypertension is of special importance and causes of secondary hypertension has to be excluded. Convincing a patient for lab tests at imaging is not always possible but doctors’ casual attitude is also noteworthy.

Ture Sir. Need much more efforts and serious attitudes must in our country health care.

*********************************

Looking for secondary causes of hypertension in individuals less than 50 years of age is valid, but a good history including lifestyle assessment including work, family circumstances and psycho-social assessment is key to good management. I personally do not advise medication early in this age group and like to understand the importance my patient gives to exercise and weight reduction. For those who are willing (and most are), I encourage them to buy a blood pressure machine as an investment into managing their medical condition. Assessment of a patient recorded chart of blood pressure plus level of exercise undertaken gives valuable insight into assessing the need for further investigation and drug therapy. I do not own a pharmacy or clinical laboratory, I am under no pressure to advise un-necessary drugs or tests.

Very right. Health of a person is more important than sticking to the opinion of one doctor. Always go for a second and even third opinion if the problem is not responding to treatment suggested.

Nostalgia

My own village home school & masjid of Khalabat is under the water of Tarbella Dam. when water is less, ruins appear. Sad memories. However, many memorable moments of Islamabad school number six, Fsc of government college there & later Khyber Medical college, hostel seven & nine all came in from of me…. as I read this beautiful article by Dr Munawar Aziz.

Telepathy!

I am a former behavioral scientist with over four decades of experience. Such behavior and neurological linkages are common to many species. Ivan Pavlov (19th century) and Jane Goodall (20th century) have proved in experiments with dogs and chimpanzees, the typical bonding between closely-connected specimens.

Prof. Dr. Ayesha Sadozai
ayeshaksadozai@gmail.com

*********************************

This story narrated above by the writer is quite interesting, it’s not really telepathy which is defined as “mind reading” in scholastic terms. It’s more like an intuitive feeling of doom or some negative occurrence. We have all experienced such thoughts and feelings in our lives and found them to be alas true. I presume it’s some form of ESP (Extra Sensory Perception) but science cannot at this time explain such thoughts and feelings.

Nayab Ahmad
Email: nayaba2014@gmail.com

*********************************

Telepathy has been a subject most talked about in 60s. However, another term Teleportation is being worked upon by the scientists now a days. Chinese have experimented and teleported photon (packet of information)1400 KMs away, from Tibet to a Satellite. Holy Quran mentions Queen of Sheba’s throne brought to Hazrat Sulaiman’s court in split of a second. The person who brought it had knowledge of the Book. The book is not specified but it does show us that it must be a book of science. The construction of ships and temples is evident that people in those days may be much advanced. Another advancement in science and technology is Egyptian Pyramids.

Muhammad Irfan Talib
Email: presenttimes@hotmail.com

*********************************

Very interesting! I had similar experiences when I was abroad. I have put this down to perhaps having an extra dimension. Also being a psychic, person with an ability to have this telepathy describes this ability! I wonder whether this is a brain wave activity or some other phenomenon in the environment, yet to be discovered!
