Should Clinicians accept administrative jobs in hospitals?
Very true and balanced picture of the current scenario. I wonder what is going to happen next. Everyone is frustrated. Those who didn’t work earlier will do the same but those who are sincere to their profession are in the state of agony and uncertainty.

Very nice. Totally agreed. In last two years whatever research we have done on health system in Pakistan, we have realized that although we keep calling it a resource poor country, but it’s more about the poor ability to manage resources than the lack of it. Those who accept these management roles without training are to blame.

It is a Hot topic. Fully agree with the opinion. I think the doctors are neither equipped nor trained with administrative acumen. And for upholding the dignity of this profession we should refrain from such ventures. The doctor’s respect lies in patient care. We should concentrate on this core competency.

In my view, clinicians should focus on their trained roles in clinical practice and leave responsibilities related to hospital administration and public health to the experts in those fields. This would not only allow those with relevant expertise to step forward and fulfill their roles, but also preserve the integrity and focus of clinicians.
