LAHORE: A team of Office bearers of the most prestigious institution of United Kingdom, the Royal College of Physicians Edinburgh (RCPE) visited Pakistan to honour several Pakistani Clinicians in Lahore on the 1st of November 2024 at the King Edward Medical University. The recipients included two globally renowned psychiatrists, i.e., the Immediate-Past President of World Psychiatric Association, Prof. Dr. Afzal Javed SI, and HEC Distinguished National Professor of Jinnah Sindh Medical University, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Iqbal Afridi, who is a former President of Pakistan Psychiatric Society (PPS).
The awardees comprised eminent academicians such as Prof. Khalid Masood Gondal TI, Senior Vice President of College of Physicians and Surgeons Pakistan (CPSP) and the Regional Director- UK of CPSP, Dr Asad Rahim, who was also instrumental in organizing this memorable event.
The ceremony was hosted by Prof. Mahmood Ayyaz, the Vice Chancellor of King Edward Medical University, and Lahore. The President of RCPE, Prof. Andrew Elder, administered the Oath and Roll Signing ceremony. He congratulated the fellowship recipients, thanked the KEMU and appreciated the great hospitality of the people of Pakistan. (PR)
