Karachi: Health Care Committee has been formed by FPCCI Central, for the year 2024-2025. The Committee has 16 members headed by Dr. Nausheen Shahzad. The objective of the Committee is to ensure affordability of accessible health care for all. This includes promoting preventive care, improving health care infrastructure, enhancing medical education and training, implementing policies to address public health challenges.
The Committee would strive to create a health care to improve the overall health and wellbeing of the people. The first meeting of Health care Committee was held on Saturday, the 9th March 2024. The Convener of the Committee chaired the Meeting with the following viewpoint: Strategy Development for addressing challenges faced by Pakistan Health care system, including insufficient funding, inadequate work force and infrastructure, and inequitable resource distribution. Planning a strategy to advocate for the massive shortage of Hospitals, Doctors, Nurses, and Paramedical staff. The meeting 1) Focused on the prevention of Child Obesity and Tooth Decay; which is increasing due to consumption of junk food/ low quality food.

Dr. Nimrah Shahzad, who is a qualified Dental Surgeon, remarked that Dental Health awareness programs to be organized Dr. Mansoor Ahmed, a renowned Cardiologist with International fame, emphasized the importance of exercise for fitness and good health. It was agreed by the Committee to utilize the forum of Basic Health Units and upgrade them to provide low cost efficient/ affordable treatment to the masses. In this regard, a meeting with the Provincial Secretary Health is proposed. The meeting concluded with the vote of thanks for the participants, especially the chief guest, Mr. Samiullah Khan, ex- hockey Olympian.
