Enhance justice through forensic evidence in Islamic courts-Dr. Javed Khan

Seminar on Forensic Sciences at IMDC

ISLAMABAD: A seminar on “Transforming Health Sciences: Innovation in Forensic Science and Skill Development,” was organized by Islamabad Medical & Dental College (IMDC) on Thursday October 10, 2024. The speakers included Mr. Javed I. Khan from California USA, a distinguished forensic scientist with over 35 years of experience, and Prof. Dr. Muhammad Mukhtar, Vice Chancellor of the National Skills University. They discussed in detail Forensic Medicine and Biotechnology.

It was attended by scholars, and students from various health disciplines. Dr. Khan in his keynote presentation talked about enhancing justice through forensic evidence in Islamic courts while Prof. Mukhtar shared insights on “Viral Neuropathogenesis,” discussing new research models for understanding and combating neurodegenerative diseases.
The presentations were followed by lively discussion. providing an opportunity to the participants to explore the future of forensic science in Pakistan, underlining the critical need for advancements to support justice and healthcare. This event marked a significant step towards strengthening forensic science in Pakistan and fostering innovation in health sectors. The achievements of Khan and Mukhtar underscore the potential within Pakistan’s educational landscape, serving as beacons of hope for future generations. Their ongoing work in forensic science and health innovation is vital in a world where these fields increasingly intersect, shaping the future of justice and medical breakthroughs.

Later the two guest speakers engaged in a focus group discussion on the importance of linkage and collaboration in academic research within the fields of forensic medicine and biotechnology. Earlier Prof. Maj Gen (R) Muhammad Aslam, Vice Chancellor of The City University Islamabad (CUI) in his welcome address emphasized the importance of innovation in health sciences. (PR)
