KARACHI: A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed on Monday, July 21, 2025, between the Centre for Education & Training in Clinical Research (CETCR) at Dow University of Health Sciences (DUHS) and PharmEvo Pvt. Ltd. The agreement aims to foster collaboration between academia and industry.

The signing ceremony was attended by Prof. Jahan Ara Hasan (Vice Chancellor, DUHS), Dr. Ashar Afaq (Registrar, DUHS), Dr. Faksheena Anjum (Director, CETCR), Dr. Masood Jawaid (Director Medical Affairs, PharmEvo Pvt. Ltd.), Mr. Shaukat Ali Jawaid (Chief Editor, Pakistan Journal of Medical Sciences and Chairperson, PharmEvo Research Forum) and Mr. Kamran Zaman.
This strategic partnership seeks to cultivate an environment of continuous learning, professional growth, and innovation. Key areas of collaboration will include training programs, seminars, expert sessions, and joint research initiatives, all aligned with emerging trends in healthcare and pharmaceutical sciences.
The primary objective is to enhance the professional capacities of students, postgraduate trainees, faculty, and industry professionals. This will be achieved through specialized workshops, clinical skills training, and knowledge exchange initiatives. The collaboration will also support the development of industry-relevant courses that incorporate current technologies, methodologies, and practices.
Both parties will co-design and deliver training programs tailored to the evolving needs of students and professionals alike. These will include workshops, seminars, conferences, and expert lectures on specialized topics, with a strong emphasis on practical application and innovation.
The partnership also envisions joint research efforts focused on real-world challenges, along with the provision of Continuous Professional Development (CPD) programs to help professionals stay current with the latest advancements in their fields.
A Joint Steering Committee comprising representatives from both DUHS and PharmEvo will be established to oversee the implementation of the MoU. The committee will monitor progress, ensure objectives are met, and organize regular meetings to review developments and plan future activities.
