Shark Tank Cardiology by PharmEvo
LAHORE: Keeping up its traditions of taking unique initiatives to promote the research culture in Pakistan and encourage healthcare professionals providing them opportunities for their professional development, PharmEvo sponsored a special session “Shark Tank Cardiology” at the 28th annual conference of Pakistan Hypertension League held at Lahore recently. Twenty-Five thousand was shared by Dr. Sana Ghous from Sindh Institute of Cardiovascular Diseases Sukkur and Dr. Aamir Shhbaz from Shaikh Zayed Hospital Lahore. Some of the topics selected for the synopsis and abstracts were very good. However, presentation by some of the presenters left much to be desired. It reflects the poor quality of teaching and training. These young researchers and postgraduates need to be trained in how to prepare the slides and posters, how to convey the message in the last slide which should have the take home message. They also need to be trained how to make the presentation. They need to be taught all this at the training institutions by their seniors and supervisors before they are asked and allowed to make the presentation at a conference. As this not only reflects on their supervisors and trainers but also the institution with which they are affiliated.
