KARACHI: Dr. Syed Haroon Ahmed an eminent psychiatrist who retired from Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre many years ago passed away on Thursday April 3rd 2025. May Allah Pak rest the departed soul in Jannah.

Late Prof. Syed Haron Ahmed was one of the founder members of Pakistan Psychiatric Society, an important member of the Pakistan Medical Association and dedicated activist for human rights. He had a long association with Human Rights Commission of Pakistan. He also established Pakistan Association of Mental Health and was one of the founding Trustees of SIUT. Apart from his family members and close relatives, he leaves behind a large number of friends and well-wishers in the medical profession and the civil society to mourn his death.
