Women Empowerment & RMU
RAWALPINDI: At the Center for Liver and Digestive Diseases, Holy Family Hospital, Rawalpindi, Rawalpindi Medical University (RMU) has already made significant strides in gender representation. With nine female consultant gastroenterologists and interventional endoscopists and seven female endoscopy technicians, RMU stand as a testament to progress in a traditionally male-dominated field.

While this year’s theme, “Accelerate Action,” calls for advancing women’s roles, RMU celebrates the fact that it is already leading the way. TMU’s focus Prof. Umar Vice Chancellor of RMU says now is to empower, mentor, and inspire the next generation of women in medicine, ensuring sustained progress in gastroenterology and interventional endoscopy.
