LAHORE: Provincial Government of Punjab has taken a commendable initiative to improve the care of stroke patients in the province by establishing twelve stroke management centers in teaching hospitals all over the province. These centers have been established at the following institutions:
- Mayo Hospital, Lahore.
- Services Hospital Lahore
- Sir Ganga Ram Hospital Lahore
- Punjab Institute of
Neurosciences Lahore. - Allied Hospital Faisalabad
- Nishtar Hospital Multan.
- Allama Iqbal Memorial
Teaching Hospital Sialkot. - Shaikh Zayed Hospital,
Rahim Yar Khan - Holy Family Hospital
Rawalpindi. - DHQ Hospital Gujranwala
- DHQ Hospital Narowal.
- Bahawal Victoria Hospital
Bahawalpur.
The authorities will also provide TPA the most effective blood clot dissolver to the stroke patients free of cost. Punjab Health Minister Salman Rafique was present at the formal inauguration of the Stroke Management Center at Services Institute of Medical Sciences/Services Hospital Lahore last week. Punjab Health Secretary Dr. Rizwan Naseer, Principal SIMS Prof. Zohra Khanum, Prof. Asif Bashir Executive Director of Punjab Institute of Neurosciences, Prof. Jodat Saleem were also present on this occasion.
