Medical profession should use advanced technology to promote research & provision of standardized care – Sardar Ayaz Sadiq

57th Convocation of CPSP

ISLAMABAD: Speaker of the National Assembly of Pakistan, Sardar Ayaz Sadiq was the Chief Guest at the 57th Convocation of College of Physicians and Surgeons Pakistan (CPSP) held here recently. Over 1,050 specialists, including 955 Fellows and 95 Members were awarded degrees on this occasion.

who was the chief guest at the CPSP Convocation held recently.

In his address Sardar Ayaz Sadiq lauded CPSP’s contributions, declaring it a premier institution for higher medical education. He congratulated the Fellows and their families, urging them to dedicate their lives to serving humanity. He assured CPSP of full government support and encouraged the integration of advanced technology and the promotion of research in the medical field to provide efficient standardized patient care.
President of CPSP Prof. Muhammad Shoaib Shafi in his welcome address highlighted the institution’s national and international contributions. He extended heartfelt congratulations to the successful Fellows and their families. He expressed gratitude to the Chief Guest, Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, for his unwavering support to CPSP, particularly in resolving the Fellows’ registration issues.

He also called upon the government to increase postgraduate training seats and emphasized the need to introduce postgraduate medical education programs at the district level. Furthermore, he underlined the importance of establishing Emergency Medicine departments in major hospitals to ensure timely and quality treatment for patients. He specially acknowledged the services of ex Health Minister Dr. Jamal Nasir for expansion of postgraduate program at DHQ level.

Dr. Danial Ahmad Kamal, Dr. Iqra Ghous, Dr. Umar Younas, and Dr. Muhammad Waleed Babar, were awarded gold medals by the Chief Guest, Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, in recognition of their exceptional achievements.

Some eminent medical personalities which included Major General Azhar Mehmood Kayani, Dr. Amir Ali Syed, and Prof. Zubair Ikram, were awarded Honorary Fellowships by CPSP.
Earlier Major General Mazhar Ishaq CPSP Councilor administered oath to participants ensuring honesty, dedication to humanity, and adherence to professional responsibilities.
The convocation concluded with CPSP President Prof. Muhammad Shoaib Shafi and Senior Vice President Prof. Khalid Masood Gondal conferring degrees to the Fellows and presenting shields to the honorable Chief Guest. The convocation was largely attended by council members, heads of medical institutions, prominent figures from the medical fraternity, senior professors, and the proud parents of the Fellows. (PR)
