Diabetes Management Course at
Memorial Hospital, Lahore

Lahore: A certificate course in Diabetes was conducted at Fatima Memorial Hospital by the Department of Family Medicine and the Department of Endocrinology spread over six months. The concluding session was held on the 5th of January 2018.

There were six contact sessions once a month for two days. It had accreditation for 72 CME hours from University of Health Sciences Lahore. The course had about 75 participants from all over Punjab and also Kashmir.

The course was focused on the practical aspects of diabetes management, especially for family physicians who are the first contact for people with Diabetes and who are also at the front line to offer prevention and health promotion. The feedback was overwhelmingly positive. Fatima Memorial Hospital aims to initiate other similar initiatives to empower family physicians to actively involve themselves in continuing professional development.(PR)
