DUHS’s 9th Convocation

26 earn Gold Medals, 24 Silver Medals
and 24 Bronze Medals

KARACHI: Dow University of Health Sciences held its 9th annual convocation recently where twenty six doctors got Gold Medals, twenty four were presented Silver Medals while twenty four were presented Bronze Medals in addition to over three hundred doctors who were conferred MBBS degrees. A number of postgraduates in different fields of Allied Health Sciences were also presented diploma, MPhil degrees.

Dr. Azra Fazal Pehchuho who was the chief guest on this occasion said that we have adequate healthcare facilities in our province; still, there is lot of room for further improvement in the health sector. Addressing the graduating students of 2018 batch, she congratulated them and said that this is the day of great joy for you. Now, it is your responsibility to serve the society with best of your ability in urban as well as rural areas.

Guest of Honor Dr. Ajmal Khan, Vice Chancellor of Karachi University, said that after acquiring medical education, you have to meet the expectations of the entire nation. He further said that now you have entered in your professional lives. You have the skill to overcome anything in your difficult times.

Prof. Dr. Saeed Quraishy Vice Chancellor, Dow University of Health Sciences said that this is not only the day on which your dream comes true, this is the day you are set free to live your dream the actual way and prove yourself worthy of this honour. The world of medical research and allied health sciences is open to you waiting. He encouraged the graduates to help resolve the problems faced by the society, and mark this occasion as a starting off point by restoring faith and humanity to the delivery of healthcare and become proud citizens of this nation. He further advised them to serve the ailing humanity with devotion and dedication so that we have a better healthcare system.
