202 doctors have so far died
due to Covid-19 infection

KARACHI: According to a press release issued by Pakistan Medical Association (C) so far all over Pakistan 202 doctors and 30 paramedics have died due to Covid infection. It includes 74 from Punjab, 65 from Sindh, 53 from KPK, 06 from Baluchistan, 01 from Gilgit Baltistan and 03 were from Azad Jammu & Kashmir.

Out of these Shaheed doctors 24 were Medical Officer, 19 General Physicians, 13 Pediatricians, 11 Anesthetist, 10 were from Administrative Posts, 09 Professor of Medicine, 09 ENT specialists, 07 Gynecologists, 06 Pathologists, 06 Psychiatrists, 04 Orthopaedics surgeons, 04 Pulmonologists, 04 Dentists, 03 Ophthalmologists, 03 Post-graduate Trainees, 03 Radiologists, 02 Surgeons and 02 were Cardiologists.

Dr. Qaiser Sajjad Secretary General of PMA (C) has requested the government to protect all the doctors and paramedics by providing uninterrupted supply of PPEs.

Eminent Gynecologist
Dr. Faridoon Sethna passes away

KARACHI: Dr. Faridoon Sethna an eminent gynecologist affiliated with Lady Dufferin Hospital passed away on May 8th 2021 after a brief illness. He was in his 80s.

Dr. Sethna graduated from Dow Medical College Karachi and later got Fellowship from Royal College of Obstetricians & Gynecologist UK. He spent his entire life rebuilding the Lady Dufferin Hospital in Kharadar area and treated poor patients from old Karachi. He was also affiliated and Chair, Medical Director of Concept Fertility Center in Clifton.

Dr. Sethna trained a large number of obstetricians and gynecologists besides supporting the role of midwives and the cause to provide best care to pregnant women. At Lady Dufferin Hospital, Dr. Faridoon Sethna was involved in teaching and training of postgraduate students in obstetrics and Gynaecology.
