Govt. should acclerate
vaccinaction aganist Covid19

LAHORE: Government of Pakistan has shown criminal negligence in starting the vaccination campaign against Covid19 Pandemic says Paksitan Medical Association Lahore. Addressing a press conference last week President of PMA Lahore Prof. Ashraf Nizami said that the healthcare system in the country has almost choked. We are at the bottom of Nations as regards provision of Vaccine to our people and that too which is being received as donation from China.

Continuing he stated that authorities have not placed orders in time for procurement of vaccine so far and is still banking on donations. The PMA suggested that after consultation the government should take over under its control the affiliated hospitals of private medical colleges. Announce complete lockdown in Punjab for at least two weeks. Ensure provision of vaccination to all healthcare workers, make sure uninterrupted supply of oxygen to healthcare facilities, stop entery of people from those countries like India where Covid19 has assumed alarming situation. The government was further advised to lift ban on purchase of antiviral drugs to ensure timely care to the corona patients. (PR)
