PMA (C) rejects NLE
other PMC initiatives

KARACHI: Pakistan Medical Association Centre at its emergent virtual central council meeting held on June 9th has rejected the recent measures taken by Pakistan Medical Commission. “The meeting rejected PMC as its principal stand over dissolution of PM&DC because PMA believes that PMC is not a regulatory body. It’s a commission under which universities and colleges have been given self-regulatory role while the National Level Regulatory Authority PM&DC was abolished.”

The Central Council also unanimously rejected the PMC’s recent decision of initiating mandatory biometric and CNIC verification of each doctor in Pakistan. It also rejected the National Licensing Exam for medical graduates. If these measures are not taken back then PMA in collaboration with Young Doctors Association and Pakistan Islamic Medical Association (PIMA) and other sister organizations will protest against it all over Pakistan.
