Paediatric Advance Life
Support Course at CPSP

LAHORE: College of Physicians & Surgeons Pakistan, Regional Center, Lahore, conducted Paediatric Advance Life Support (PALS) Providers’ course from 4th to 5th August, 2014. The aforesaid course is useful in providing immediate relief to children in different diseases.

This course has been made compulsory for all Postgraduate Trainees and Supervisors in the specialty of Paediatrics of CPSP. The said course will be beneficial for trainees and supervisors to enhance their clinical expertise and skills.(PR)

World Hepatitis Day at SIUT

KARACHI: World Hepatitis Day was celebrated at Sindh Institute of Urology and Transplantation (SIUT) recently to increase public awareness and screen population for hepatitis. This program was meant to motivate the public to play their role in stopping the spread of this disease in the community. During this activity a comprehensive questionnaire was filled by the people visiting SIUT to identify the risk of hepatitis. Along with that a detailed awareness video presentation was shown which helped the people to identify the risk of hepatitis, mode of transmission and the preventive measures.

In conjunction with awareness program, SIUT organized free blood tests and abdominal ultrasound for the purpose of screening. On the occasion the first dose of Hepatitis B vaccine was given to the attendees. Consultation with the specialist doctor and dietician were also arranged for those interested. (PR)
