LAHORE: Department of Medical Education in collaboration with OASAC 2018 conference secretariat arranged a one day capacity building preconference workshop at Avicenna Medical College, Lahore on Aug 5th 2017. Prof Brig Suhail Amin current Chairman of POA Trauma Forum. OASAC is the Association of Orthopedic Surgeons of SAARC countries facilitated and directed the activity.

The workshop coordinator Prof. Faisal Nazeer Hussain introduced the faculty members to the course director and the details of the activity. He told the participants that the present educational activity has the patronization of Scientific Committee OASAC International Conference 2018 as a preconference workshop.

 Prof. Gulfreen Waheed Principal and Director Medical Education who herself is a very keen trainer and a dynamic educationist welcomed the guests on behalf of the college. She said Avicenna Medical College though a recent addition to the medical Institutes of the medical fraternity is firmly committed to ethical, high quality and community targeted medical education. She said the undergraduate students of the college have brought a lot of good name to the college due to their university results and performance in the field wherever they have gone. This is the reason our students have frequently secured good positions in university examinations. She said now that the college is recognized for FCPS part-II training in Medicine, Surgery, Obs & Gynae, Orthopedics and Pediatrics we must build our capacity best suited to train the trainers further. Prof Brig Suhail Amin conducted the workshop in one session lasting about three hours. Handouts were given while the interactive participants did their group work. They presented and discussed good qualities of various world renowned leaders. Various real life conflicts were raised and solved in group activity with the facilitator. In the end the Principal thanked the participants and gave away certificates to the organizers and the participants. (PR)
