FAISALABAD: PharmEvo one of the leading national pharmaceutical companies which is known for innovative marketing practices and creating goodwill with the healthcare professionals keeping up professional ethics organized an Eid Milan get together for the members of the medical profession recently. These meetings were unique in the sense that the objectives were not only to honour two eminent literary figures of Pakistan in Urdu Adab but also providing an opportunity to them to interact with the doctors. In addition it also provided some relaxation and literary entertainment for the select gathering from the doctor’s community.

The two eminent personalities in Urdu literature Dr. Amjad Islam Amjad and Prof. Anwar Masood were the guest of honour at these meetings which were held at Faisalabad on August 18th, at Peshawar on August 24th and in Rawalpindi on August 25th which were very well attended by eminent members of the medical profession. The organizes were inspired to organize such literary gatherings from the great success and excellent response which they got last year by organizing an evening programme with both these literary figures at Lahore.
In today’s busy life, full of stress and strains, this provided a rare opportunity to the healthcare professionals to listen to these two eminent writers and poets who have emerged as the living legends in this field. PharmEvo which has been sponsoring Mushairas at various medical conferences and medical institutions besides other literary activities including publication of books has in fact also contributed a great deal in promoting the reading habits and Urdu Adab in Pakistan as a part of its overall mission of creating and achieving a healthier society. These meetings also reminded the members of the medical profession the importance of poetry in raising the intellectual bar of the society besides promoting tolerance and peace which is extremely important in the present scenario of law and order situation and increasing violence in the society. All such cultural activities play a vital role in the healthier development of the society.
Over one hundred twenty eminent members of the medical profession representing different disciplines of medicine including some young doctors were invited to each of these meetings and they were all looked after by PharmEvo team during these programmes at Faisalabad, Peshawar and Rawalpindi. At the Faisalabad meeting, Mr. Jamshed Ahmad Chief Operating Officer of PharmEvo welcomed the guests and participants and also shared with them PharmEvo philosophy behind such cultural and literary programmes. At Peshawar and Rawalpindi, the guests were welcomed by Mr. Shakeel Ahmad Director Marketing and Sales at PharmEvo.
When Dr. Amjad Islam Amjad was called to the stage, he was warmly welcomed by the audience. He shared his personal experiences and captivated the audience with his poetry for almost over an hour. He recited some of his Kalam and enthralled the jam-packed audience who gave him tremendous applause and standing ovation. For many it was perhaps for the first time to meet Amjad Islam Amjad and interact with him.
Prof. Anwar Masood then sent every one laughing with his satirical poetry which featured the every day problems of the common man and common themes including some of his best and most popular couplets like Medicine Kay Side Effects. His Poetic expression of numerous social issues in the society earned him lot of applause and the participants kept on clapping for long to admire and appreciate his poetry. In some of his poetry Prof. Anwar Masood severely criticized the increasing Westernization of the society some of which has deprived the society of our moral values. The programmes were thoroughly enjoyed by the participants, seniors as well as the young doctors present. While these meetings provided lot of relaxation and literary entertainment for the members of the medical profession, it also provided an opportunity to the PharmEvo marketing team and field force to cement their cordial relationship with the doctors whose continued patronage of PharmEvo quality products has earned the company their confidence and trust.
