KARACHI: Fluid & Electrolytes must be administered carefully to avoid infections which could be a serious threat for patients. This was stated by Dr. Muhammad Shamvil Ashraf Senior Consultant & Director Pediatric Medical Services Indus Hospital Karachi while performing Otsuka lucky draw held at Otsuka Head Office here on 27th September 2016. Mr. Haneef Sattar Chief Executive Otsuka Pakistan, Dr. Syed Ali Talha Raza, Senior Medical Advisor, Mr. Muhammad Arshad Deputy Marketing Manager, Mr. Moeenuddin Ansari, Product Manager, Mr. Muhammad Ashraf RSM and other Otsuka senior executives were also present on this occasion.

Continuing Dr. Shamvil Ashraf said that Quality of IV fluids is of great importance and Otsuka IV solutions are undoubtedly best in the market.  He appreciated consistent quality standards of Otsuka over the years. He also appreciated “Do not prick IV bottle, It can spread Hepatitis” campaign run by Otsuka Pakistan for the last many years. He urged that mixing of fluids and other injectables should not be done on floors and wards rather in hospital pharmacies.

Mr. Haneef Sattar speaking at the occasion said that we believe in quality products for which one have to pay extra money. Otsuka is following the quarantine policy for which we have acquired large warehouses. Lot of expansion has also been made at our manufacturing plant to solve the product shortage problem.   

Earlier Mr. Muhammad Arshad, Deputy Marketing Manager Otsuka Pakistan, highlighted the activities of Otsuka Pakistan to create awareness about Hepatitis spread, needle stick injuries and pricking of IV infusion preparations by using electronic and print media among the public and healthcare professionals. Dr. Mohammad Abbas Kiamkhani from Noor Medical Centre, Tando Allahyar was the lucky winner of a bumper prize for the Month of September 2016 draw. Other fifteen winners will get consolation prizes.
