LAHORE: Thirty seven candidates have passed the Certificate Course in Medical Editing being run by the University of Health Sciences, Lahore as per the results which was announced recently. It includes candidates from Batch-3 as well as seven candidates from the previous Batch-2 who were not eligible for Viva examination last year. This CME programme it may be mentioned here is a joint project of UHS in collaboration with Pakistan Association of Medical Editors (PAME) which was started three years ago.

According to the result Dr. Haris Ramzan from KPK has secured the First position getting eighty two marks and earned Dr. Sarwar Zuberi Prize worth Rs. Thirty thousand while Dr. Wajid Jawed from Dow University of Health Sciences Karachi has secured the Second position getting eighty marks and earned Prof. Tahir Saeed Haroon Memorial Prize worth Rs. twenty five thousand. The Third positron is shared by Prof. Sundus Tariq from University Medical & Dental College Faisalabad and Prof Zilli Huma from Rehman Medical Institute, Peshawar and they both have earned Dr. Maqbool H. Jafary Memorial Prize worth Rs. Twenty thousand each.

Keeping up the past traditions and in order to encourage the candidates from less developed areas, it is also planned to present Prizes worth Rs. Twenty thousand each to Dr. Saira Fatima from SMBBMU Larkana and Dr. Mukhtar Mahboob from Benazir Bhutto Hospital, Quetta.

Pakistan Journal of Medical Sciences also offers one Prize worth Rs. Twenty Five thousand every year. Prof. Saba Tariq PhD Professor of Pharmacology and Therapeutics from University Medical & Dental College Faisalabad from CME Batch-3 has been selected for this Memorial Prize for the Year 2021. Admissions to CME Batch-4 is likely to commence shortly. The First Contact Session may be from February 16-19th 2022. All those interested may remain in touch with Univesity of Health Sciences, look for details on UHS website and advertisements in the newspapers. If all goes well, admission to Module-Two may also be undertaken soon.
