Plight of Medical Education,
Health Services in Pakistan

This refer to interview of Prof Dr. Irshad Hussain Qureshi on the above mentioned subject published in Pulse International of July 15, 2021. He is very right to say that faculty members of the Public Medical Colleges are worried about the changes being brought in the existing system on the pretext of progress in health sector. I fully support his views.

Impact Factor
Journals in Pakistan

Dear Shaukat Ali Jawaid,

I have read " Journal Citation Report" by Clarivate Analytics in the Fortnightly Pulse Vol .22 No.12 Page 2, August 1-14, 2021. Out of all (Total 3) Medical Journals, Pakistan Journal of Medical Sciences (PJMS) has topped by scoring a journal impact factor of 1.088.

This reveals one fact that journal should have a customized secretariat, full time Editorial Staff, ancillary support, appropriate funding and continuing learning mechanism to earn competitive ranking. I don't know when our medical universities, medical/ dental/ nursing colleges and research institutes would learn this bitter fact to establish the infrastructure with optimal qualified workforce in medical editing and journalism.

I extent hearty congratulation to you on this accomplishment. This is, indeed, recognition to your passion and dedication towards medical journalism.
Best Regards.

Maj. Gen. [Retd.] Prof. M. Aslam,
MBBS, M.Phil, Ph.D, FPAMS, FCPS
Professor of Physiology
