Diagnosis, Challenges and new 
treatment approaches in MS

KARACHI: Professor Nikolaos Grigoriadis, a renowned Multiple Sclerosis expert from Greece was the guest speaker at a seminar on diagnosis challenges and the new treatment approaches in Multiple Sclerosis (MS). It was organized by The Neurology Awareness & Research Foundation (NARF) in collaboration with a Multinational Pharmaceutical Company at Karachi on 31st August 2018. Meeting was chaired by Prof. Shaukat Ali and attended by Dr. Arif Harekar, Dr. Mughis Sheerani, Dr. Shazma Khan, Dr. Sara Khan, Dr. Bashir Soomro & many others from all major institutions/ departments of Neurology from Karachi.

NARF initiated this academic activity to update Neurology Community about the new developments and research outcomes on treatment options in the MS disease. Professor Nikolaos Grigoriadis, shared his views on the importance of early diagnosis and recent advancements in the treatments available for MS. He discussed investigations, diagnosis and latest treatment options according to the disease type and progression. The challenges of MS diagnosis & treatment in Pakistan were also highlighted by the speaker who shared his own experience of managing the MS disease with a focus on new modalities.

Dr. Abdul Malik thanked the speakers especially Prof. Nikolaos for coming Pakistan and encourage the neurologists of the country to put their best efforts to improve the situation of MS in Pakistan. (PR)
