Endocrine Stream activities
during IDEC 2016

KARACHI: Endocrine stream organized various academic activities during the just concluded International Diabetes and Endocrine Congress (IDEC-2016 organized by Baqai Institute of Diabetology and Endocrinology (BIDE) from August 19-21st 2016.

It included state of the art lectures, workshops and interactive sessions on important topics like Thyroid disorders including thyroid cancers, Parathyroid disorders, PCOS, Growth hormone disorders. Adrenals etc by renowned experts of the field.  Eminent medical personalities of Endocrine like Prof. Zaman Shaikh, Prof. A. H Aamir, Dr. S. Abbas Raza, Dr. Aisha Sheikh, Dr. Aysha Habib, Dr. Osama Ishtiaq, Dr. Col. Shahid Ahmed, Dr. Hamed Farooqi (UAE), Dr. Rehman Khan (UK), Prof. Liaquat Ali, Prof. Tasnim Ahsan, Prof. Najm-ul-Islam, Dr. Qamar Masood, Dr. Uditha Bulugahapitiya (Sri Lanka) were the keynote presenters.

by BIDE at Karachi from August 19-21st 2016.

For the first time in Pakistan live work shop of hands on practice, of Ultra Sound and FNAC of thyroid nodules was conducted by Dr. Uzma Khan, lead Endocrinologist Missouri State University (USA). Endocrine Deliberations with time frame were announced at the end which opened new horizons in the field of endocrinology. Time frame system was given for the first time to keep check on the progress of work done. This scientific program provided an opportunity to exchange opinions and viewpoints with the experts from all over the world. Feedback of the participants were taken at the end of sessions which was very positive regarding the quality of presentations and workshops. Endocrine Deliberations with time frame were announced at the end which opened new horizons in the field of endocrinology. Time frame system was given for the first time to keep check on the progress of work done. (PR)
