OBS Pakistan Satellite Symposium
at PSSLD Annual Congress 

KARACHI: Pakistan Society for the Study of Liver Diseases (PSSLD) in collaboration with 3rd Annual Meeting of the South Asian Association for the Study of Liver (SAASL) conducted its 9th Annual Meeting at a local Hotel in Karachi from 4-6 December 2015. The aim of this joint meeting was to highlight liver diseases that are of particular relevance to South Asia, now and in the future.

OBS actively participated in PSSLD 9th annual meeting by arranging symposia on 5th December with PSSLD to discuss HCV management in Pakistan in 2015 and beyond. About 70 physicians including faculty members of PSSLD and heads of various renowned hospitals of Pakistan participated in this symposium. This symposia was also utilized to introduce HepNetTM (A group of renowned hepatologists supported by OBS) and various projects that HepNet is accomplishing for the benefit of Hep-C patients in Pakistan including development of Local Treatment Guidelines, Patient Registry Program and Capacity Development of General Physicians for the Management of Hep-C.

The symposium was chaired by Prof. Wasim Jafri along with Prof. Saeed Hamid who are Faculty members of Aga Khan University Hospital. Panel of experts included Prof.  Zaigham Abbas (Head of Gastroenterology at Ziauddin Hospital Karachi), Prof. Dr. Altaf Alam, Prof. Dr. Javed Iqbal Farooqi & Dr. Faisal Wasim. Dr Rashid Zar (OBS Medical Director) spoke about Mylan in detail.

All leading KOLs congratulated OBS & Mylan for the partnership & appreciated with these words “We appreciate Mylan for providing us quality medicine as another option for normalizing enormous burden of Hepatitis-C”. The presentations were followed by lively discussion.(PR)

at Radiology Conference in Lahore

LAHORE: Siemens Healthcare Pakistan showcased its latest developments in the field of radiology imaging at the 30th Annual Radiology Conference organized by the Radiology Society of Pakistan (RSP) at Lahore recently.

At the same time, it is cognizant of the importance of investing in research and communicating the results proactively, to further the knowledge and expertise of medical professionals in the country.
