NUMS seminar focuses on
Quality Assurance/Inspection

RAWALPINDI: National University of Medical Sciences (NUMS) Quality Assurance Directorate held its 2nd Seminar on July 24th, 2017 at Professional Development Centre NUMS Secretariat, focused on appraisal of progress made  towards first HEC Quality Assurance Inspection/ Assessment team forthcoming visit to the NUMS Secretariat.

The Seminar participants representing all the Directorates, Constituent and Affiliated Colleges  and the Armed Forces Specialty Institutes were briefed with latest HEC directives of Quality Assurance and its pivotal role in the overall ranking of the University at the national level.

Ms Noor Amna Malik, Director QA emphasized the collaborative nature of the Seminar with  a focus on preparation of the Self Assessment Report and the information required for the Institutional Performance Evaluation (IPE) report. These two inputs will constitute the University Portfolio Report (UPR), the main document for inspection by the HEC-QAA team.

Pro-Vice Chancellor NUMS Maj. Gen. Muhammad Aslam in his keynote address dealt upon “Role of University in Accrediatation, Quality Education & Standards”. An active discussion took place where queries from all NUMS College and Institues QA representatives were addressed on the compilation and verification of data by Provost QA, HR, & RD Syed Mahmood Raza.

Keeping in view the significance of the seminar, the success response was more than 85% in which they all were encouraged to fill in the information gap between Academic program and Institutional Performance evaluation for achieving the desired objective.

Vice Chancellor Lt. Gen. Syed Muhammad Imran Majeed HI(M)  in his address emphasized on key attributes to bring NUMS among the top ranked universities of the world including, teamwork, Quality Culture, professional development of faculty, Student involvement in QA, exceeding excellence in academic programs and performance of institutes.
