Prof. Asad Aslam awarded Ramzan 
Ali Syed Gold Medal

QUETTA: Prof. Asad Aslam a noted ophthalmologist currently working as Principal College of Ophthalmology and Allied Vision Sciences at King Edward Medical University was awarded Prof. Ramzan Ali Syed Gold Medal at the ophthalmic conference held recently which was organized by Ophthalmological Society of Pakistan.

Prof. Asad Aslam, it may be mentioned here has also earlier served as Pro VC and Vice Chancellor of King Edward Medical University. He graduated from King Edward Medical College in 1985, did MS in Ophthalmology from University of Punjab in 1991. Later he did PhD in Ophthalmology from KEMU in 2013. He was awarded Honorary FACPS by American College of Physicians & Surgeons in 1999 and FCPS by College of Physicians and Surgeons of Bangladesh in 2011. He has thirty four years of teaching experience. At present he is also Chief Executive Officer of Mayo Hospital Lahore, has 59 research publications to his credit. He was also appointed Chairman and National Coordinator for WHO-Pakistan for prevention of blindness and member of Monitoring Committee for Vision 2020. He has introduced nine different courses at the College of Ophthalmology and Allied Vision Sciences including VR and Paediatric ophthalmology.
