Potential fatal risk of intestinal obstruction
paralytic ileus with Clozapine

MHRA of UK has reminded the healthcare professionals that clozapine is contraindicated in patients with paralytic ileus and when prescribing clozapine, particular care should be taken in patients at risk of constipation. It is atypical antipsychotic drug. The risk of GI side effects is long established with clozapine.
