Women’s Day and New OT Complex

International Women’s Day Celebrated at SLMC Sahiwal

SAHIWAL: The department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, DHQ Teaching Hospital & Sahiwal Medical College, Sahiwal organized a walk at the occasion of International Women’s Day on 8th March 2017 within in the medical college. The walk was joined by the head of institution Professor Dr. Zafar H Tanveer, Principal Sahiwal Medical College & Allied Hospitals, Professors, Associate Professors, Assistant Professors, medical students and nurses of the hospital. They were carrying placards which read, the rise of women does not mean the fall of men; another quotation was you have got everything to take the world in your stride. Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology Dr. Shagufta Tahir delivered a speech to motivate students and highlighted the rights of women suggesting that who are under-privileged should be taken care of by those who are blessed with everything in life. Workshop of Research Methodology

A workshop on Bio-statistics and Research Methodology was organized for the teaching faculty of SLMC & Allied Hospitals in Faculty Lounge at SLMC Sahiwal on 8th March 2017.

Newly renovated Gynae Operation Theatre Complex

Newly renovated Gynae Operation Theatre Complex was inaugurated by Principal SLMC & Allied Hospitals Prof. Dr. Zafar H Tanveer adjacent to Gynae & Obs Department in RA Block of DHQ Teaching Hospital Sahiwal on 9th March 2017. Teaching faculty, hospital administration, doctors, trainees, nurses and Additional Commissioner Mr. Ayub Bukhari was also present on the occasion. On behalf of teaching faculty, HOD Gynae & Obs Dept. also formally congratulated Prof Zafar H Tanveer on being appointed Principal on permanent basis. This new Gynae OT Complex is state of the art facility with Neonatal Resuscitation Area, Recovery Room, Wash up & Scrub Area, Washrooms, Labor Room, Observation Room, Post Op Ward, Emergency room, Anesthesia Office, Sister Office, Store, Autoclave Room, Dirty Linen area, Change Room, Surgeon's Office and four fully independent and equipped Operation Theaters.


Lecture on diagnostic radiology at
CPSP Regional Center Lahore

LAHORE: Dr. Faisal Khosa, Assistant Professor Radiology, Vancouver General Hospital, USA delivered a lecture on Diagnostic Radiology at College of Physicians and Surgeons Pakistan Regional Center Lahore. The purpose of this lecture was to inform trainees doctors about the new international techniques of CT Scans and MRI. The lecture on Radiology was online connected to all regional centers included CPSP Karachi headquarter, Islamabad, Peshawar, Multan and Faisalabad regional’s centers.

Prof. Khalid Masood Gondal, Senior Vice President CPSP speaking on this occasion said that Diagnostic Radiology is a very important specialty. For correct diagnosis of the diseases, it is very important to have basic knowledge in radiology. CPSP offers the Fellowship and membership in the Specialization of Diagnostic Radiology. So far CPSP has produced 833 fellows and 553 members in the discipline of Diagnostic Radiology. Dr. Khawaja Khurshid Ahmed, President Radiological Society of Pakistan thanked to Prof. Khalid Masood Gondal for organizing this lecture.
