JPMC Annual symposium

KARACHI: Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Center is organizing its 53rd Annual Symposium from April 1-4th 2018. Health Promotion, Innovation in Medical Care is the theme of the symposium.

Latif Sheikh honoured by
American Society of
Health-System Pharmacists

KARACHI: Mr. Abdul Latif Sheikh, B.S.Pharm., M.S., President and CEO, Pakistan Society of Health System Pharmacists, has been honored by the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP) with Donald Francke Medal which will be presented to him at the 53rd Midyear Clinical Meeting scheduled to be held in December 2018. This Medal is presented to those who have made significant international contributions to advance pharmacy practice. He is the 23rd individual to be honored with this award since it was established in 1971.

Mr. Abdul Latif Sheikh

Mr. Latif Sheikh it may be mentioned here is a strong advocate of patient safety and quality of care internationally. He has been instrumental in advancing state-of-the-art hospital pharmacy services and pharmaceutical supply chain systems in several countries and is an active leader in numerous national and international pharmacy organizations.

ASHP represents pharmacists who serve as patient care providers in acute and ambulatory settings. The organization’s 45,000 members include pharmacists, student pharmacists, and pharmacy technicians. For more than 75 years, ASHP has been at the forefront of efforts to improve medication use and enhance patient safety.

Prof. Mateen Ahmad Khan
passes away

KARACHI: Prof. Mateen Ahmed Khan Prof. of Radiology who retired from Dow Medical College many years ago and was later associated with Ziauddin Medical University passed away on Monday February 19th 2018. May God Almighty rest the departed soul in Peace. Ameen.

Int. Conference on Health Professions
Education &
Research at Peshawar

PESHAWAR: IHPER at Khyber Medical University is organizing the 6th International conference on Health Professions Education and Research at its campus from April 19th to 21st 2018. The Theme of the conference is “Towards Excellence in Health Professions Education & Research”.

The scientific programme consists of 25 key notes along with posters and presentations in parallel sessions. Pre-conference‚ workshops will be on 19th April, 2018‚ followed by the conference on April 20-21st 2018 which will be held at the university campus. The conference is expected to attract a large number of medical educationists from all over the country besides a few delegates from overseas.
