Like every forward looking organization it has a corporate social responsibility to contribute towards the efforts of development of future leaders. As a part of its recent efforts, OBS Group has launched a summer internship program. The recruitment strategy was focused on attracting graduates through on campus advertisement and close liaison with the career offices of their institutions. The interns were hired through a rigorous recruitment process to ensure that best possible selection for the available positions has been made. The applicants appeared for written tests on campus at SZABIST and IBA Karachi .Only the top scoring applicants were called for interviews.
During the course of the internship program a meeting was conducted by Mrs. Adeela Tarek Khan, Senior Director OBS Group, in which the interns and mentors participated. The theme of the meeting was “Nurturing Young Talent” in this interactive session all interns shared their learning experiences and discussed the progress of their assigned projects. A small plant was presented to all mentors in order to symbolize them as gardeners who are responsible for nurturing of the young talent and books were provided to the interns for their guidance.
During farewell ceremony for the interns in head office, Mr. Tarek M. Khan, CEO OBS Group and Mrs. Adeela Tarek Khan, in the presence of whole Senior Management Team acknowledged the interns by awarding certificates along with souvenirs. Mr. Tarek acknowledged the talent of the interns and highlighted the importance of youth development. He emphasized on innovative and entrepreneurial thinking.(PR)

Training course for HPE
candidates at CPSP Lahore

LAHORE: A Two weeks Health Professions Education (HPE) Course concluded at College of Physicians and Surgeons Pakistan (CPSP) Regional Center Lahore. President CPSP Prof. Zafar Ullah Chaudhry who was the chief guest on this occasion said that CPSP has provided the best platform for training of doctors. The course was attended by 20 senior Professors within the country and abroad.
Senior Vice President CPSP Prof. Rakhshanda Rehman and DGIR Prof.Khalid Masood Gondal also briefly addressed the participants. Facilitators for the course included Dr. Amna Ahmad and Ms Javeria Elyas. (PR)

YDA offers software to
Govt. for collecting disease data

LAHORE: Young Doctors Association (YDA) has offered to provide free of cost software to Government of Punjab to computerize the data of thousands of patients coming to the emergency wards daily of 23 teaching hospitals of Punjab. .This software will help in uploading the data of the diseases of various patients daily to the higher officials health department and media. As the software is internet based, it will exactly provide the figures that how many patients of various diseases like communicable diseases as well as accidents, fire arm injuries and burns presented to the emergency wards daily. This will not only provide the government a help to control the diseases but will also provide them a way to plan for the future.
According to Dr. Salman Kazmi the software has been developed by a graduate of King Edward Medical University Dr. Rizwan. (PR)
