 CPSP completes 1000 training
courses for HCPs

LAHORE: College of Physicians & Surgeons Pakistan arranged a ceremony on the successful completion of one thousand courses for Basic Life Support (BLS) and other skills at the Regional Center Lahore recently. Prof. Michael J. Hollands, President of College of Surgeons of Australia was the chief guest on this occasion.

Prof. Michael J. Hollands in his speech commended the contributions of CPSP by organizing quality training courses and workshops for the healthcare professionals to build up their professional capacity.   Such BLS courses, he opined, are mandatory for doctors in Australia. Implementation of these courses in Pakistan will enhance the standard of medical training.

It may be mentioned here that CPSP has conducted twenty Advanced Life Support for Obstetrics (ALSO) courses which were attended by 402 under training lady doctors. In these courses the emergency training for mother and newborn was imparted. One hundred fifty nine Advance Trauma Life Support (ATLS) courses were conducted for the doctors who work in emergencies. These courses were attended by 2380 doctors whereas 155 courses on Advance Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) were conducted which were attended by 1677 doctors. CPSP also conducted 20 courses on Paediatric Advance Life Support (PALS) for providing the best emergency medical treatment to children. These courses were attended by 200 doctors. CPSP, through these training courses prepare future specialists by providing training of international standard to under training doctors.. Briefing the media after the conclusion of this ceremony, Prof. Khalid Masood Gondal, Senior Vice President, said that CPSP is making continuous efforts for the up-gradation of training standard within its own resources.
