Shuhda Package not yet implemented by Government
109 Doctors, 24 paramedics lost
their lives due to COVID19

PMA (C) organized a Candlelight Vigil to pay
homage to these Shuhdaas

KARACHI: Pakistan Medical Association (PMA) Centre held a Candlelight Vigil today at PMA House Karachi to commemorate and pay tribute to Shaheed Doctors of Pakistan who sacrificed their lives and served the nation bravely in war against Coronavirus. These Shaheed doctors are our real heroes and we wholeheartedly salute them. Till today 109 doctors have been martyred (Punjab-49, Sindh-34, KPK-19, Balochistan-5, Gilgit.B-1, AJK-1) and 24 Paramedics have got shahadat throughout Pakistan.

A large number of doctors, paramedics, members of the civil society, families of shaheed doctors and people from different walks of life attended the program and paid homage to the Shaheed doctors. The people lightened candles and prayed for departed souls.

On this occasion leadership of PMA lauded the services of martyred doctors and said they served the nation with great courage as frontline soldiers and fought till their last breath, but unfortunately our government is showing ingratitude to their services because nothing has been done for the welfare of the bereaved families of these Shaheed Doctors. Shuhda Package was announced by the government for the families but it has not been implemented yet.

PMA once again demanded from the government to implement Shuhda Package immediately to minimize the sufferings of the bereaved families. PMA also requested all the doctors to strictly follow the SOPs while examining their patients at their clinics or hospitals to avoid the deadly virus. (PR)
