Surgical Course for Genital
Tract Fistula at SIUT

KARACHI: A three day surgical course on “genital tract fistula in female population” started at SIUT on Wednesday April 27th2016. The course was organized by Sindh Institute of Urology and Transplantation (SIUT). It was formally inaugurated by Prof. Sadiqua Jaffery an eminent gynecologist.

The prime aim of organizing the course is to train medical professionals in dealing with one of the most dreaded complication among female during birth. The genital tract fistula is most common ailment in the developing countries where obstetric health facilities are not available particularly in Asia and Africa.

According to experts once the fistula occurs the suffering female is socially and culturally isolated and neglected from husband, home, in laws and even parents.Experts from Africa, UK, Saudi Arabia and from within the country are taking part in the deliberation. Inaugurating the course Dr Sadiqua Jaffery lauded the efforts of SIUT in taking up a vital medical and social issue by providing training facilities for professionals.

Earlier Prof. Adibul Hasan Rizvi Director SIUT welcomed the guest and also highlighted the aims and objectives of the training course. (PR)

PPMA to Host 2nd Pharma
Summit on May 2-3rd 2016

KARACHI, Key issues related to operations, growth, marketing, regulation, and control of Pakistani Pharmaceutical industry will be discussed in detail at a two-day moot being organized by Pakistan Pharmaceutical Manufacturers€™ Association (PPMA) on May 2nd and 3rd 2016. The theme of the meeting is Global Mindset-The way forward to growth

All these topics concerning functioning, expansion, and control of pharmaceutical industry of the country will be discussed at the moot with a global perspective keeping in view modern and stringent operational, regulation quality control, and marketing techniques adopted by drugs manufacturers the world over. According to Dr Kaiser Waheed, chairman of the summit’s organizing committee, Prof. Dr. Marcel Corstjens will be one of the important invited guestspeaker at the summit.Prof. Dr. Corstjens who had earlier taught at University of California, Berkeley, and now being a visiting professor at Cornell and Stanford  universities was coming to Pakistan to participate in this meeting. Dr. Corstjens is currently based in France associated there with leading business school the INSEAD. The other international speaker is Muhammad Imranfrom Saudi Arabiais anoted consultant of Pharma industry.

The speaker in the summit include Chairman-PPMA Hamid Raza, Khalid Mehmood, Zahid Saeed, Mian Muhammad Zaka Ur Rehman, Sohail Matin, Muhammad Ali Majid, Tariq Wajid, Tauqeer ul haq, Nadeem Ahmed and TAREK M. Khan & others. (PR)
