Prof. Asad Aslam awarded
PhD degree by KEMU

LAHORE: Prof. Asad Aslam Khan, Pro-Vice Chancellor / Professor & Chairman of Ophthalmology, King Edward Medical University, Lahore has been awarded Ph.D in Ophthalmology by the King Edward Medical University, Lahore. His thesis titled: “GENE BASED STUDY OF PROGNOSTIC EVALUATION OF RETINOBLASTOMA OF EYE” was examined by the foreign scholars from United Kingdom and Japan, while his public defense was conducted by the examiners from Aga Khan Medical University, Karachi, Pakistan. He thus becomes the first Ph.D in the field of Ophthalmology in Pakistan.
Professor Asad Aslam Khan, it may be mentioned here, founded the College of Ophthalmology and Allied Vision Sciences (COAVS), Lahore and also works as Principal / Director General of the College. He is also the National Coordinator of WHO Collaborative Programme for Prevention of Blindness in Pakistan. (PR)
