Hysteroscopy Workshop at
Lady Willingdon Hospital Lahore

LAHORE: A hysteroscopy workshop was organized at Lady Willingdon Hospital on June 2nd and 3rd 2014 under the guidance of Prof. Tabinda Rana, Chairperson/Head of Dept. of Obstetrics and Gynaecology at King Edward Medial University. The hands on workshop was conducted by a foreign Consultant Dr. Mary Connor from UK.

The two day workshop attracted a large number of participants from all over the province. The participants shared their experience and hysteroscopic guided biopsies, hysteroscopic guided IUCD retrieval were a few of the important procedure performed. Attempt to improve patient treatment with minimal invasive technique is in use all over the world. Few hospitals in Pakistan have such facilities available. It is important that all teaching hospitals should be provided with such facilities. The Health Secretary Punjab Dr. Ijaz Munir was the chief guest at the inauguration while the Pro Vice Chancellor of King Edward Medical University Prof. Dr. Asad Aslam distributed certificates among the workshop participants. BMU holds Poster competition to
celebrate Silver Jubilee of dental college 

KARACHI: Baqai Dental College in connection with Silver Jubilee Celebrations organized model project of competition. The Students of Medical, Dental and Physiotherapy participated. They highlighted different parts of human body in colourful posters and models. The competition was organized and supervised by the Chairperson of Anatomy Department Prof. Kishwar Sultana. The Chancellor Baqai Medical University Prof. F.U. Baqai was the chief guest.
Prof. F.U. Baqai in his speech said that in 2012 we had celebrated Silver Jubilee of Baqai Medical College and now we are celebrating Dental College Silver Jubilee. We are proud of students who expressed their creative skills through posters and models. He appreciated the efforts and wished them a success in future professional life.
Earlier Prof. Kishwar Sultana in her welcome address highlighted the objective of the competition and the efforts put up by the students. Chancellor and Vice Chancellor visited the stalls and asked question from the participants. They also appreciated their efforts.
First prize was awarded to 2nd year MBBS students group Shahyar Khan, Wahab Inayat, Lout Abbas, Habib Yousuf, Aminah Iqbal, Maha Khalid, Shumila Shabeer, Komal Khan, Ahsan Khan, Saad Iqbal and Mir Ghoram in their model “Brain”. The Second prize was awarded to model of “Lower Limb”, casted by Fariha Pirzada, Aleza Mustafa, Amnah Qazi, Aqsa Khan, Armughan Ahmed, Faiz-ur-Rehman, Muhammad Asad, Muhammad Asif, Noor-ul-Ain, Sayeda Areeba Sherazi. The third prize was given to “Focal Nerve” Model to Nimrah Qamar, Meera Naseer, Zoya Maryiam, Dua Abdul Razzaq, Haroon Naqeeb, Zubida Shahid, Husna Shams, Irshadullah, Abdul Wahid.(PR)
