About 19.05% are known diabetics while 7.14% were newly diagnosed as diabetics

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Diabetes Survey 2016-2017 conducted by Baqai Institute Dialectology and Endocrinology, Baqai Medical University in collaboration with Ministry of National Health Services, Regulation and Coordination, Pakistan Health Research Council and Diabetic Association of Pakistan and WHO Collaborating Centre Karachi has claimed that there are about 19.05% people known to be suffering from diabetes while another 7.14% have been newly diagnosed to be suffering from diabetes. Findings of this survey were presented at a conference held here recently.

Health RAB establishes Clinical Research Center at Abbas Institute of Medical Sciences, AJK

MUZAFFARABAD AKJ: Health Research Advisory Board (Health RAB) an entity established by PharmEvo Pharmaceuticals has established the First Clinical Research Center in Azad Jammu and Kashmir at Abbass Institute of Medical Sciences, Muzzafar Abad. The CRC was formally inaugurated on September 9, 2017. Earlier a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) was also signed between PharmEvo/Health RAB and Abbas Institute of Medical Sciences.

KARACHI: Karachi Institute of Medical Sciences (KIMS) Malir Cantt one of the newly established medical colleges by Pakistan Army organized a Workshop on Research Methodology at KIMS Campus on August 29th 2017. It was attended by Lecturers and Assistant Professor of KIMS while Associate and Professors participated as observers. Some Consultants from the Combined Military Hospital Malir Cantt were also present. The main initiative for the workshop was taken by Prof. Seema Mumtaz and her team and the facilitators included some faculty members of KIMS besides Mr. Shaukat Ali Jawaid Chief Editor of Pakistan Journal of Medical Sciences who is also Secretary of Eastern Mediterranean Association of Medical Editors (EMAME) who was also the Chief Guest on this occasion.
