PHL 21st Symposium organizers introduce numerous innovative changes in the scientific programme

FAISALABAD: The City of Faisalabad has always been an excellent venue for the Pakistan Hypertension League meetings and the tradition was set by Prof. Abdul Hafeez Chaudhry former Prof. of Medicine at Punjab Medical College by holding an excellent meeting including a Public Awareness Session many years ago. However, this year Prof. Ahmad Bilal and his team who organized the 21st Annual Symposium of PHL here from February 23-25th not only kept up those traditions but also introduced many innovative changes in the scientific program which will not be easy to follow for the organizers of the future meetings.

IHPER at KMU is working on integrated curriculum development

PESHAWAR: Institute of Health Profession’s Education and Research (IHPER) is affiliated with Khyber Medical University. It has three medical educationists in its faculty myself, Dr. Usman Mehboob both are PhD while the third faculty member is Dr. Brekhna Jamil. We have about twenty medical and dental colleges affiliated with the university. We are working on integrated curriculum development. As a pilot project, we have started working with North West School of Medicine, Rehman Medial Institute, Khyber Girls Medical College, Khyber Medical College and Kohat Institute of Medial Sciences.

Prof. Adnan Aziz dies at young age of 44

KARACHI:  Prof. Adnan Aziz, Professor of Surgery at Dow University of Health Sciences, Karachi passed away on Wednesday February 14, 2018 at the young age of forty four years. He was under lot of stress these days and failure to cope with that stress resulted in myocardial infarction which proved fatal.

Punjab Healthcare Commission and UNICEF to collaborate for improving healthcare service

LAHORE: The Punjab Healthcare Commission and UNICEF will work together to improve the quality of maternal, neonatal and child healthcare in the province. This was agreed at a meeting held at the PHC office recently. PHL to start Certificate course in Management of Hypertension for Family Physicians

KARACHI: Pakistan Hypertension League has decided to start Certificate Course in Management of Hypertension and the first course is scheduled to begin from March 10th 2018. It will consist of ten modules, classes will be held on every Saturday between 3-5 PM.  Ninety minutes presentation will be followed by interactive discussion.
